Run INSTALL.EXE USE --- - To start the program, double click on its icon. - Type in the phrase you want to search for in the "Find:" block. - Select "File | Set Path..." and select a search directory. >> note: by default only one directory is searched << >> see below to change this << - The default filter is "*.*" for all files. You can change this. Results may not be pretty on binary files. - Select "Search|Start" to begin your search. MENU COMMAND SUMMARY -------------------- Search Start - begins a search Stop - halts a long search File Set Path - set the directory to search Reset Path - sets directory & filter to C:\*.* Save as - saves the result window View - view file from search (highlight to select) Open - view file with associated application Exit - quit at any time Options Include - search only files with specific extensions Exclude - do not search files with these extensions Search subdir.- include subdirectories of current path in search >> should pattern should end with *.* to include subdirs Use defaults - reset all options to their default values Help User's Guide - displays this guide Registration - displays this guide - see below About - displays program & author info >> notes: Include/exclude may not both be specified - path filter still applies in either case (use *.* if in doubt) - these do not apply to subdirectory names. A check mark indicates an option is in effect. Select it again to cancel the option (select 'cancel if needed). SEARCH STATUS ------------- The icon blinks during searching, and 'Path:' is updated whenever a new file is opened.
